A group for musicians who would like to play in a band.
We have five members, drawn from a wide range of musical backgrounds and experience, who can play piano, drums, clarinet/alto sax, flute and guitar. Our playing repertoire so far could be described as ‘easy listening’ and includes tunes such as Autumn Leaves, The Shadow of Your Smile, Petite Fleur and Nuages. We hope to tackle the bossa nova tune Corcovado the next time we meet to play.
We are meeting for practice at 2pm every 1st and 3rd Wednesday in the month in Hexham St. Aiden's URC, Hencotes, in the lower hall.
It isn't necessary to read music for the pieces we are playing, if you can learn by ear, but we do have music and for
concert pitch, B flat and E flat instruments. The music also has suggested guitar chords for accompaniment.
Musicians who would like to join in would be made very welcome. Please get in touch with Adrian using the email link above.
